Evening All.
I've had an issue today where a 4 month old starter motor became an ex starter motor.
It was on a year 2000 P38, 2.5DT, after a few stops earlier in the day, I came back to it and there was no response to the key, all the other systems where working fine, except for the starter.
After a lift home from a nice guy on a recovery truck, I removed it and took it to a guy locally who's a font of knowledge, he tells me that the starter was permanently engaged and had been ruined.
It's gone for warranty inspection and it's a possibility that they (Bosch) could say it's a problem external to the motor, possibly the vehicle wiring.
Has anyone had similar happen to them?
Also has anyone had to rewire a P38 starter from the key switch to the motor and what would be involved. Is it a case of replacement of the back of the ignition key and replacing any relays, or is it much more complicated.
Thanks in advance
