Hi all,

My car is immobilised and won't start without inputting the EKA code.

I believe the BECM is not sending a code to the Gems ECM - the BECM is currently locked so I can't see the key code stored.

The ECM has a permanent P1621 DTS. I have done a relearn, to no avail.

I realise it may also be a fault with the Driver door lock which I have not looked at yet.

Help please.

Ok I will do my best but somebody with more knowledge may agree or contradict me

If the EKA gets it started then the BECM is sending the required signal to the GEMs ECU.

Standard situation for BECMs Are you trying to access the (fob)key code or the EKA cos when BECM locked you cant see them.
But as you enter the EKA and it starts then you have the right 1.

Not sure what that fault applies too. need to look.

If it accepts the EKA then not much wrong with the door lock microswitches.

I would personally start with the fob and make sure good batteries and try to sync the key, In the door or/and in the ignition. the way to sync was changed depending on year but wont hurt to try both.

Does the fob open the doors? Has it ever?
Has the aerial been unplugged from the receiver?

As said above, if it starts with the EKA code, the BECM is sending the immobiliser code to the engine ECU.
If the FOB doesn't work, you will always need EKA unless you use diagnostics to switch it off, then you can operate the car with just the key blade.
If the FOB unlocks the doors but the engine will not start, try clearing the RF memory with diagnostics. It could also be the door lock micro switches not operating fully from the lock motor.
