BECM possible locked state?

Yep Marty, all the above!
It's says unlocked and let's me change all the settings, but, it's having none of it and all reverts back to French, left hand drive, gems, manual etc
 
That is a classic sign that it's actually in an alarmed state, and nothing you do with normal diagnostics will reverse it unfortunately.

PM about to be sent...
