my new to me disco 2 td5 seemed to be lacking power so i have given it a good service injector loom ,maf sensor, engine breather, cleaned map sensor ,egr removal, new turbo hoses, fuel filter, oil &filters
it seem's to have a very small increase in power ,has anyone any ideas as i am all out of them now as i will have to take it to land robber on monday for diagnostics
cheers

Unplug the little sensor on the side of the air box and take it for a drive. If there's improvement you need a new AAP sensor.

Also disconnect turbo wastegate arm and check it can move freely. If not free it with WD40 and then try and get some copper grease worked into it.

If this doesn't help, you could do with checking for air leaks, pressure test intercooler etc.

It could be may things, but try these for starters as it will not cost you money.

thanks for the new ideas i will try them now
i had a 200tdi defender and that pulled like a train compaired to this disco just hope its not the engine its self they look very very expensive

it's also recommended to clean out the intercooler and put a new air filter too(if you missed that) ... but some live data on diagnostics would be a great help

thanks for all your help i had it pluged in today and the fault code for the map sensor came up even though i had cleaned the original one it was still no good so a new one fitted and now have a totaly different disco :D so once again cheers for all your help :clap2:
