hi does any one know where i can go off roading in kent, either green lane or off road days? i have a p38 so nothing to serious. does any one have any idea what they are like off road?

Are they anygood off road. It seems to big and bulky to be anygood. Am I right?
nope yer wrong.Sounds like youll be pleasantly surprised, although it does have its failings.
Where abouts in kent are ya and how far you prepared to travel?Theres laners in essex, surrey and herts that go out regular, or if ya wanna go south then down to the Sluts.Bet there are lanes in kent but i dont know any. Geta os map and check for byways on there, then find out from the council if they are open and then you can find a mate with a fourbie andgive it ago.Dont go alone!
For pay n play site try here http://www.paynplay.co.uk/ can go alone but aint much fun on yer todd

in in sittingbourne, we use to have suzuki sj's and we use to go to boxley woods, stockbury woods and pilgrims way but the are all closed off now, what is the p38 lkie conpared to these?

Dude there is a pay and play a mile from my house (near Herne Bay) also if ya wanna go do some lanes then im all up for that!!!

where else do you go off roading, do you only do the pay and plays? what are the p38s like off road as i have never seen any one off road with one lol.

No i never do P&P! Cant be arsed wiv smashing the **** out of my landy!;) However i do know all of the lanes in east kent and some :D
Dont mind scratches though!

well if anyone fancies meeting up for a bit of mild green laning in kent, I wouldn't mind tagging along in my freelander van, (hence the green laning). Can't be too extreme as a) I've only got road tyres and b) I need it for work c) it's a freelander.

There is a green lane leads from the road from West Kingsdown to Sevenoaks, I'll try and find the location exactly. Is only about 1/2 mile long, but if you're in the area, it's worth a look.

http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=we...on&loc=GB:51.32055:0.24953:15|west kingsdown|

It's just to the right of the word "woodlands" in the middle of the screen. the map seems to show quite a lot in the area so I'll have to check the O/S map for more.

Hey OP im always up for a bit of laneing in and around Kent, What part of kent are you in? im between herne bay and cantersbury! The east kent lanes are pretty cool (the few we have left) they can get a bit scratchy in places but it always comes out with a polish! So if ya fancy meeting up for a run then give me a weekend date and we will get out and do some.

Anyone else in kent wanna tag along and do some lanes???

My sentiments exactly, its taken me years to be able to justify having a second vehicle just for fun and I don't want the cost of silly mods and big repair bills.

what the hell are you pepes doing at p&p sites that you cause so much damage?

me and a couple of mates travel all over various countys attending winch challenges and p&p sites and have never caused unnesseccary damage to any of our vehicles

why would you want to smash the **** out of your landy at a p&p site?

the idea of a p&p site to enjoy you offroad motor whatever it may be in a controlled environment, yes you do get the tits that wanna thrash round as fast as they can but just leave em to it

I'm in Dartford, even less greenlanes than you methinks! Quite willing to roll down to your neck of the woods, you're only just over an hour or so away.

How you fixed for next Sunday morning JPS ? (07.06.09) for a bit of greenlaning. As I say it'll have to be reasonably gentle as a)freelander b)road tyres c)need it for work, so can't kill it.

Not one of Kent's 'Raging Rhinos'...............

....................or 'Raging Homos' as we call 'em? :hysterically_laughi:mooning::behindsofa:

They are a bit wide for my taste but they are pretty good when the going gets tough. ;)

Funny you should say that, guess who may be in the area next weekend...... ;)

got a feeling this could get all "extreme" from the look of your disco boomer. I'll end up feeling all inadequate in my freelander.

Oh no you won't! Contrary to popular belief I do have my sensible moments
When we did the S*L*U*Ts Newbie trip last year I gained a deep respect for the offroad capabilities of a Freelander.
I went out with JPS driving Speedwaybabes' Freelander a couple of months ago and was again impressed at how well it coped. They don't like rutted ground too much but kept up through the muddy bits just fine. ;)
