Note's to self!!!!!!! Ref: EGR Blanking

1. Never do another EGR Blanking Mod!!!!

2. Never look at the bath and think........Hmmmmmmm That looks like a good place to clean anything to do with the car!!!!!!!!!!!

3. Most importantly don't get caught halfway through by your Mrs on her lunch break!!!!!

OMG.....The clean up took me longer than the job!!

Waiting for my Mrs to get back from work at 20:00 so I can test drive but sounds a lot smoother!!

Was a big job for me to have I go at so pretty proud of myself....Bit worried about the torque of the manifold nuts and bolts because I realised my wrench doesn't go down to 10/15 nm!!!!! so I tightened them as much as I dared....Do you think its worth buying a little torque wrench and setting them?????

Its a shame your bath has handles on. the rest looks the same as our and it would of been perfect to wind the missus up.

scrap that. I've just cropped the 2nd picture and sent it to her.

That reminds me of the first egr valve I did a few years ago dog stood in a lump of the black crud then went in doors cost me a new carpet in the front room. Live and learn didn't let the dog out when I did the freelander. Happy days I think the misses has let me off now.

When people said it was an awful job I didn't realise just how bad it was....... I used...... G101..(5 Litres), Terps (1 Litre), Petrol (3 Litres) Gunk (750ML).....A shed load of hot water in the bath and finally my Karcher to wash it all out!!

Can't wait to test it later now!!

Ha ha it seemed like a great idea at the time......Infact I am sure the word Genius popped into my head for a moment!!!!!!!!

All I can say is that G101 stuff cut through it in no time but burnt my hands like you wouldn't believe......... Should have paid more attention to the "Corrosive" sticker on the back!!

I reckon if I had left it soaking in that G101 (neat) overnight it would have been a lot easier.....as it was I had 3 hours to get it done!!

Ha ha yeah lap it up fellas 2 minutes till she walks through the door.....!!!!! I reckon if I time it right I can slip out the back as she comes in!! That duck noise!! I did think I heard something when revving it before but then I thought it was that Webasto heater thing!!
