So apparently the EGR cooler and valve needs replacing on my 2010 Freelander 2. Car is sluggish to pull out at junctions etc.

Q1) if a get a blanking plate will this solve the issue / and who could fit it as I don’t think garages will.

Q2) if q1 isn’t an option- apparently Landrover have a delay in parts and no dates available.
Where could I get a cooler and valve?

Q3) both keys don’t charge anymore his can I get a cheap replacement

Thanks.

What is faulty, the EGR valve or the cooler?, as they are different parts, and create completely different issues. What issue are you having?
It is possible to blank the EGR, but keep in mind that an EGR blank is an MOT fail if detected.

There are plenty of OE spare parts available, which are the same part as those LR supply, just not in the expensive LR packaging.

It's likely the batteries have failed. There are repairs services available for the fobs. There's a chap on the Freel2 forum whom does fob repairs for a reasonable cost.

Sluggish to pull off. Ie. Really slow, engine light on. Garage said valve but often with that type of fault the cooler needs replacing

The cooler only leaks coolant if it's faulty, it won't effect the way the engine runs. It sounds like they're just wanting to make a bit more profit.
I'd want to see codes before committing to spend large amounts of money that might not fix the fault.

Hello,
Did you sort you EGR issue?

I have a 2012 Manual Diesel FL2 which was leaking coolant and we traced it to the EGR cooler.
been trying to get a second hand cooler to replace. Any leads here will be much appreciated?

Yes did get it replaced. But at an astronomical price. The EGR is now fine but still sluggish at pulling out.
Garage managed to source cooler and filter but paid £1300

Wow, yeah, that's Pricey! Was that a new EGR cooler or second ? Could you share a contact of parts supplier

It was new. Think the cooler was £400 and the valve £350 the rest was labour. I don’t have the supplier details but this is the garage. They are quite helpful http://www.moonwhizz.co.uk/
So they replaced a cooler that might well have been fine, why am I not surprised?
If it's sluggish, then it sounds like they didn't do an air path calibration, which is an integral part of replacing anything in the air path. The price you paid would be about the same as an LR dealer, and they would have done all calibrations needed.

Well I think you advised before to check the error code and you were right it was just the valve. So I had booked in to get this replaced. Whilst doing it they advised the cooler was leaking or something has snapped and had to replace this too. I was gutted. As that’s Christmas gone now. Nothing left.

Nothing you can do about it now, but I've heard the same BS from repair places many times.
If it's down on power, it sounds like they didn't carry out an air path calibration, which is a vital part of the job. Not doing it can affect performance, and also result in early EGR valve failure.
