noise from clutch help plz

hi guys last week put a message on here about a noise i got when pushing the clutch down and up sounds like a whirring noise. so i thought thrust bearing and so did ur selves think the same. any way box off today and release bearing changed. went for the final test and when i release the clutch up slowly still the same noise. i even put the hi/low lever into neutral and the main box into neutral and when i press and release the clutch pedal up just keeps making this whirring noise it stops if you release clutch right up and drive the car its fine. what else can it be. also are they a mass fly wheel on thease as i only pulled the box back enough to get my hand in to change the release bearing. any sugestions. what a bastard it was to do.

Flywheel spigot bearing.

sounds like the spigot bearing in the flywheel is the problem if you have done the release bearing

spigot bush from crankshaft input ...cheap but box off job ...no problems for driveability just annoying Land Rover Discovery TD5 spigot bearing bush LFB500050 | eBay

never thought of that. also do you think it could be the lathe shaft bearing. only makes the noise when you start to release the clutch pedal up to were about the clutch bites b4 that point and after this point no noise but i can feel it under the pedal. if you hold it in the place were it makes the noise and rev the car it dyes away.
