not obviously so but drain axles in the next few days or at least drop some to make sure no water in oil,you can isolate fault to front or back by seeing which prop is spinning out of difflock ,front front etc

Yes your breather is full of water! Might be ok if you don't drive it and dis-mantle it when home and put new oil in it! Can't be ****ed if you still have drive in diff-lock!

Then look at the drive flange when u know front or back! See if it is spinning without the wheel!

theres not many reasons that high wont work but low will ,most common is worn dog teeth on high gear and it jumps out and wont go back in because of poor lever/linkage adjustment,or clutch worn and hasnt enough ability to transfer torque in high, but enough in low

Many thanks, particularly to James.

It took 4 hours to get recovered 7 miles. Fecking joke.

I'm off work Thursday so will dust off my tools and set about getting going again.

Had to drive 100yards or so in diff lock from main road to my house as recovery couldn't get any closer. Hopefully no more harm done but rather that than leave it on main road for pikeys to lift away.

was that a wind up

No, Had a sqeeling noise so lifted car off the ground and put in gear with wheels of the ground to try and find where noise was coming from.
Turned out to be the front prop ( double cardon at i just rebuilt) so took it off and its fooked, so needed to go home and get old prop and flanges, thought ok will put in diff lock and i can drive it. But it wouldnt drove in high or high diff lock, it would however drive in low and low diff lock.
Anyway borrowed a car got the prop and flanges, changed them so back to standard prop, got in put in normal high and i drove and also drove in high diff lock. So is there a prob at back axle and im driving front wheel drive only ????

When my front prop went a while ago I drive home (only half a mile or so) in diff lock with no ill effects, and there were examples of people driving around a lot longer in diff lock so you should be alright. Hope you get it sorted pal.;);)

you could drive in diff lock with prop off for years ,the only thing to think about is if a shaft or joint would then be flailing about which would cause more damage often something breaks that wont ,you can hear problem if there is,

high and low are two gears that rotate on center diff each been locked with selector hub which is splined to diff ,diff lock is a collar that slides over front output shaft and diff ,so the only way you could loose drive rear axle but is if center diff gears and broken but that would be same in high/low,ie you would only have drive in difflock ,its more likely that diff lock is just on the edge of selecting lock and would in low but not when lever was twisted back for high,if back half shaft or diff broken it wouldnt work in hi or low

Thanks James will check the linkage etc and see if the prob is there

i drove around 4 days wi my front prop off till i recieved my new 1 from paddocks and same with rear as thought front was gone but ended up bein both so aslong as ya steady diffloack wont hurt i just got advised not to go above 50ish in diff lock lol
