Ok go the bulk firing, next on the list is the "purge" line....


...Talking to a gent the other day who mention that there is a line with a charcol filter from the tank....?

Any ideas?

Correct for a 3.9 it's housed in the round canister, bottom centre of pic.

but mr noisy your explanation was nearer, it is to stop the fuel vapour escaping ,it stores it in charcoal canister till can be burnt when engine running
 
Right I understand. I thought it was more likely to be to do with emissions, but the fuel save makes sense.

Two birds one stone there. All good.

And a nice jolly end to the thread. Pure bliss :D
 
it is only fitted to cat equiped engines so any range rover or d1 after 1992 will have it fitted.
if you are using one of these looms on a no cat engine then leave the plug disconnected
