Newbie help needed lucas cav pump timing and max fuel screw

Hi all firstly all help will be greatly appreciated

When I got my land rover 110 2.5 na the previous owner had messed around with the fuel timing and max fuel screw so I've been trying for weeks to make it better with no luck. It's also quite tappy so going to attempt to adjust the tappets myself need to find out the right gap I've heard 0.25mm is right?

Idon't think there's much difference from the tdi pump. The timimg tool kit I got includes the tools for both.
