Hello all
Any sound advise on wheel/alloy choice and tyre choice for my new (to me) Defender please? specs, sizes and cost
Key requirements are:
I will need good grip in our winter weather, snow etc
I little bit of green laning
School runs and day trips with the full family

No Off roading i.e. Mud and ruts etc

Thanks

keep the standard wheels (look better than alloys imo) and fit 235/85r16 all terrain tyres

bfg and general grabber seem to get good reviews on here

Hi there.... do you know what you currently have on your 110, tyre/rim size and tread depth etc?

You may find what you have will be perfectly fine for now.... save you spending a load of cash too soon ..... believe me... you'll need to save some up :D

BTW, I'm running BFG AT 235/85 16's on mine, 50/50 On/off road tyre. About £150 quid each. Really good in the snow. (but not as good as a crap tyre with snow chains ;) )

Agree with bobbler - keep the standard wheels....

How old is it? If it has drums on the rear you are limited to what alloys will fit.

You also have to remember that being a 110 the alloys you choose must be load rated for a 110.

I went for Mach 5 steel wheels on my 110. They are often mistaken for being alloys.
