Not aware that anyone has managed to clone a P38 FOB. The FOB uses a rolling code which is synced with the BECM. The code grabbed will be different on the next use of the FOB.

I have a non standard fob with mine and a receipt from a place called Avon Diagnostics I think works fine.Car came from an auto locksmith tho might be able to ask him if he did it or this other place. Need a spare anyway!

I heard of someone cloning them but the problem is (as you say) the code rolls on so they're constantly going out of synch. You can use 1 or the other but not both at the same time. On the petrol anyway.
