hello all, not been on here for a while - had to get rid of the landy, but... the guy I sold it to has done something to it! there's a nasty clunk/slip from the rear prop shaft area, he thinks after about 9 rotations of the shaft. Am I right in thinking maybe something in the diff has gone? Or could there be anything else to look for?
I got him to jack up the rear end and turn it by hand and he said he felt a noticable slip as he turned it.
Any help much appreciated, just don't like seeing it sit there doing nothing!
cheersd

cheers,
take it it's a new diff job then?
would it be pushing it to drive it about a mile? or could the rear prop be removed and it driven in 4wd slowly?
he'll need to get it to a garage cos he bout as mechanical as a slug! :D

Rear prop off, rear drive shafts out, 4wd and no probs. Not sure if handbrake wud still work. Think so, but best to be carefull.

Handbrake should work, as long as the FWH (if fitted) are locked (but it wouldn't move if they are not)
