well gents, and noisy in particular I am a very happy boy :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Just picked up a leyland p76 v8, for those who dont remember me harping on about it before its a drop in replacement for the rv8

Out of the box it has 200+bhp (some places quote 220bhp)

and 280 ftlbs of torque :D:D:D:D:D:D They are the base of all good race rv8s from that well known tuning book!

Best thing is its still only got the 88mm bore so no more chance of liner trouble than a 3.5 :D:D:D:D

How much did I pay for this beast from a very well known and reputable landrover empire

The sum of £400ish

when I looked at trying to get one from aus I was quoted £1200-£3500 for shipping, plus I had to buy the engine so I am a happy boy

I was watching that one ;)

Does this mean you want to sell me your 3.5 in blackpool I'll even throw in a bottle of scotch :D ?

I've got the rover V8 build and repair manual and noisy's V8 build thread so was thinking I'd assemble the engine, dismantle the old one, salvage all decent parts and get it done the right way then test it on a pallet before dumping it in.

As far as I remember from the listing it had more or less everything with it didn't it ? less gaskets

Also got my eye on some new lifters from a 3.9 which I presume should fit into the 3.5

might as well leave it then :p

If you want to sell yours though I'd be interested seeing as all it needs is a cam and I'll take the inlet manifold off mine to use with carbs rather than EFI

OH MY GOD FETT.

i am so jealous, we are not friends any more.

actually feeling a fairly large amount of jealous hate for you right now!!

dead chuffed youve got one but you bastid that was not even fair at that price!!!!!

'kin awesome though, full rebuild please :D

lol, dont feel too bad noisy I have been after one of these for 3 years, constantly on the aussie ebay and trying to get shipping at a non genocidal rate but no luck.

Then one pops up just up the road from me with a reputable seller.

apparently its clean inside with a pedestal rocker set up which means its had work in the past. that set up is normally made by one of the well known yank companys- crower I think but cant remember for sure.

my plan is to clean it , paint the sump and rockers find a gas mixer for that carb and attach my gearbox when it comes back from james martin and drop the whole lot in :D
