@mick the builder I took a few photos and a video for you to give you a good idea of what it's like. Mine aren't able to jump in and no dog ramp on the market was suitable, they were all too short and the angle would have been too steep plus I wanted something I could fit and forget about that would last. This can easily take my weight for those much larger dogs lol.

Cheers mate, that's the nuts but I have swing away wheel carrier. Same as you, bought one from aldi, too slippery, noisy under her feet and too short. Like you wanted a pull out or fold up and forget. Gives me something to think about though. Cheers.

How close is the swing away to the door? This doesn't sit out too far so I don't know if you could add some stoppers to the swing away to give you the clearance?
 
What about a false floor in the tub?
High enough to take the folded/hinged ramp.pull out ramp when the door is open.
I originally had my ramp folding down inside the back but its a bit of a pain when your dogs in there. The mounts I've got fitted were an idea I came up with to secure it to the towing bracket whilst making it easy to remove if I need to
