Took my 300tdi in for an mot yesterday (dread mot`s) just to see what it would fail on and how much it was going to cost luckily it only failed on a broken coil spring which i knew about, ive got a spring so will fit it and take it back. Last year it cost quite a bit of cash to get it through, only £30 this year so very happy.

:D:D:D:D

I wouldn't replace 'a spring', I'd replace the axle pair of springs .. ;)

I think i will replace both springs, someone has said the other side might break after fitting a new one and the car might lean a bit with a new spring on just one side.

Archie

mine passed no faults, hate MOT's dreaded it days ahead but..........it passed lol - both springs sounds like a plan :)

Same here Richard, couldnt bloody sleep the night before.

Ive never had a motor go straight through an MOT, fingers crossed for next year.

The V8 we had for little over a year went straight through in January, would have failed on its bushes and likely the boot floor, would have done it, but with no money at the moment the Omega got traded for this plastic rat, go-kart, shopping trolley, gaylander thing as the omega was starting to suffer electronically, and the disco got sold as it was no-longer required or economically viable to keep, but as soon as this recession ends and theres some money and a job, they'll be another disco, don't worry about that!!

Well done, hope you have that much luck next year!!

erm no.itys a myth.you can be insured with no tax or mot its just not pc.
argueing the toss with a flux on the car i found that...

if the vehicle catches fire through eletrical fault its not covered.....

that means according to them that if you have a known fault then you are not insured.ok seems fine.

what if my mot runs out?

ahh BoB you are insured as an mot is not a certifacate of roadworthyness....

its all bollox.drove car no mot 9 months plate cameras the lot not a sausage.....

drive on.

until its yo kid that is killed by someone without insurance
i have insurance and my vehicle is maintained by me to a higher standard than the garages do.Also when the insurance company said that when my cars serviced i will find out if it has an insurance voiding fault .I reply i service my own vehicle and do not have a plug in for it does this void my insurance?

...still waiting answer 3 weeks later.....:D:D

teacheing people to do stuff this supports my case. educating peeps like maintaining yer wagon is needed here not a tax (mot).
those peeps who think an mot fixes there car for 12 months ought to be shot.

I will not ever mot my landy and it will pass any day of the week no issues.

I refuse to pay tax (mot)because its not worth **** and costs me alot of hard work to line the coffers pockets. At the end of the day my wagon is way better and safer than the nextdoor neighbours fiesta thats obviously got imminent cv failour and spent brake pads. The woman says it has an mot for another 7 months...:doh::doh:

Road tax ok fair.....
