Still working to try and get my old girl back on the road.

Serviced the front brakes this afternoon and while doing the drivers side noticed the suspension turret and/or chassis spring bracket is badly rusted.

For the condition it’s in would this be an MOT advisory or failure?

With some experienced eyes here is the problem with turret the bracket or both?
I didn’t want to poke around at this point not knowing whether it’ll go for MOT as is or not. I know it needs repairing but I just want to get it road legal if possible so it’s easy to move to repair workshops for work I can’t do.

Now the if’s…

If it’s the turret am I best to replace in pairs and are the original style best or the Terra Firma skeleton type? Passenger side looks OK.

Are turrets a one man job on the drive?

As the vehicle is nearly 20 years old should I be looking to replace springs and shocks too as best practice?

Big if… “if” it’s the chassis mount bracket how big a job is this as I don’t weld and can anyone throw an approx labour figure at me that it should cost if I supply the new parts?

Yes change them when you can, very easy to do, but if the disco needs anything major for the mot I'd sort that first and do shocks, shock turrets and springs at your leisure.
