The D2 just passed it's MOT, which for a 20 year old car is always good news. But there were a couple of advisories that puzzled me.

"Rear seats not fitted." Yup, moving home at the moment so I need the extra luggage space.

"Chassis coated in underseal". Yup, the chassis on these things rot like a b*stard, so it has been protected by repeated Waxoyl treatments, and will get a full 5 year Dinitrol treatment this spring.

Anyone know why these are advisories?

Underseal can hide a multitude of sins,

If it was a vehicle with factory fitted seats, and they're missing = advisory

    etc/

Can't be tested so it's recorded.
I regularly got advisories about the engine cover and child seat.

They have to put down something I wouldn’t worry. If you know the chassis is okay then that’s good mot for 20yr old D2

Indeed, the tester said he groaned when he saw a D2 on his list, but was really surprised at the condition. He said it was the first D2 to get through first time for well over a year. [smug mode]

My bigger rear seat is never fitted cos it won't lock up into place ;). never get an advisory about it.:)
Basically I think they can put what they want in there. Doesn't mean much, but shows they have looked at the vehicle and noticed stuff!
