The Landy limped the last 450 km back to Italy at 80 km/h but we made it! She developed a massive oil leak in Switzerland (obviously before I'd gone through all the tunnels). There isn't much oil leaking now! I suspect there's none left! The underside and back door are splattered with oil. The leak is somewhere near the transmission. Any ideas as to what may be wrong?

youve got your front prop on wrong way round ,slide goes to axle end ,whats happened to rear aliminum housing on gear box that looks worse that some that spend there lives in quarries ,cant tell from pictures whether gear box has lost mtf94 or is engine oil run back,id look around top of box and breather

You need to steam clean the engine, fill with oil, run it and see where its leaking from. if you've driven it the whole engine will be covered with oil so it'll be difficult to find without doing this. Alternatively, put some cardboard under the engine overnight and see if theres a pool in the morning..go up from there!

I run my propshafts with the slider at the top. aslong as its phased or out of phase the correct way it should be no problem
