Can some settle my argument does the early l322 have the BMW m51 engine that was fitted to the diesel p38?????
Errrr - is it???The td6 is a derivative of the the m51
Errrr - is it???
You sure????
The TD6 was the BMW M57 - The M51 was its predecessor...but the M57 wasn't an M51!!!
The 4.4 V8 (2002-2005) was the BMW M62
M51 2.5 litres. M57 3 litres. Both in production and use at the same time.
Got the same Edition at home - will check....LRO are not known for their accuracy that is for sure!!Will check but sure i read that in last months LRO on their good writeup on buying an L322. I thought the 57 was developed as a version of the popular 51. Maybe wrong.....but wasnt the N series the start of the new straight six line?
Is it just Bored out or completely different ??
Totally different.

Not that different. Whilst the 2.5 hits 60mph in a shade over 4 hours the 3.0 has been known to break the 4 hour barrier. One on board and down wind of course![]()
I take it that you have a V8 that does 0 to 60 in less than that depending on how many liners have slipped.![]()
