Well, thats us home, thankyou once again Funky Kipper and MHM working in the background.

It turned out to be sucking air in on the fuel prime bulb on the diesel line, so we bypassed that and bled it through the injectors and up she came.

I stopped in Newtown to fill again as the diesel tank only has a max range of 100 miles, and filled again in Aberystwyth. We stopped for food in Aberaeron, then carried on.

3 miles south of Cardigan, I rounded a bend at about 40, back end came away from me, no chance to recover it before slamming into a tree still around 40 MPH!!!!

Centre impact, both airbags deployed, spun 360 after hitting the tree and ended up straddeling the white line facing the verge.

My daughter was screaming, we were on a bend, so I shouted at her to get out as she was obviously ok otherwise, I was worried about a car coming through and hitting us side on as there was no way the would see us to prewarn them.

We both got out, I sorted her with a car that came the same direction we had been travelling, then went up the road to stop any cars coming that way, while at the same time calling the police.

About 10 minutes in an Ambulance arrived on the way back to the base, they stayed to attend and check us over, police arrived minutes after.

On inspection of the road the police said that had it not been us it would have been someone else, there was oil/fuel all over the road both after the crash site and before, cop said I didn't stand a chance.

Thankfully we are both OK, airbags and seatbelts did their thing! We'll be sore tomorrow but the ambulance brought us back to Withybush Hospital where they checked us out and my Ex wife came out and picked us up and took us home. Daughter has had some calpol to preempt any pains, I take lots of painkillers anyway for an old knee injury so i've just upped the dose a little bit!! Time for bed now!!

So after all your work Funky Kipper and LZ International Rescue, I now have one total write off Landrover!!

Thanks guys, think my daughter is ok, just been to check on her and she is sound asleep so think she'll be ok from a thought point of view as she has slept no problem, just see how stiff she is! I must say, I'm not too stiff myself so hopefully she won't be too bad.

Just got to sort the insurance company now! Time to see how good Lancaster are?

Glad you are ok. Will you be in touch with police again? Worth getting report on the road condition, oil etc.

Not sure i'd have been much use with your earlier problems.

sorry to hear about your loss. But the main thing is your daughter and you are both fine....a disco can be replaced :D

You know, when things like this happen in such quick succession I tend to think fate (or whichever deity you believe in) has lent you a helping hand.

By delaying you with the fuel problem, you and your young lass have been able to walk away from an horrendous situation. Had you been driving down that same stretch of road earlier you never know what might have come steaming around that bend just at the wrong time or what you might have ploughed into.

So count your blessings and when you consider what you COULD have lost, then the disco definitely takes a back seat.

Glad to hear that you are both alive and well.

P.S. A huge well done to FK and Dave (the friendly 110 driver) looks like we might have a new member too.
