Which LR product would you happen to be talking about?

How did you select DL on this vehicle?

Have you ever selected difflock on this vehicle before?

Have you read the owners manual?

Cheers

daft question but can diff lock cause wind up and wasnt there something about putting it into reverse

sorry asking such a dim question, just interested

it can but people have been known to drive around for weeks in diff lock without noticing

I assume then with diff lock engaged once u start going round corners etc is where problems start due to locking both wheels that can't turn at different rates of rotation as in a normal diff

or am I totally off the ball, lol

your right but you tend to only notice in full lock

My mechanic did it.I selected once.but its goes on and off.And never read the manual cause I dont have one.But learn from internet..how to select. Now I own second hand Lr 110 defender full time 4 wheel 1992

Actually I've just relacing my front gearbox a week ago.I ask my mech to confirm my difflock in good condition but he said wben select the difflock my Lr slowing down and stop suddenly. He thought might be the gear ratio not in correct position .Is it posibble? The person who replacing my gbox is different person who double cx my difflock.

What I have learn difflock use when very rough and slippery mud area.we can select without stoping Lr.what Ive een told previous person who own this Lr never touch and use the diffllock

Only thing diff lock does is connect front and rear and cut out the centre diff so that front or rear cannot spin independently. Only reason i can think of if when you select diff lock car slows and stops is front and rear diffs have different ratios. There really can't be any other reason for it.

I agree with Wammers, it sounds as though you have different diff ratios front and back.

Time to pull off diff covers and start counting teeth or jack up and count prop shaft rotations

.... and do so ASAP - cos if the ratios are different - one of them will fail.
