LPG leak

Ok, how would i safely find a real on my LPG system?
Gas doesn't flow until it's actually running on LPG, but with the noise of the engine and the fan blowing air round the engine bay, finding the source of the leak seems impossible!!

I've done the obvious and tightened jubilee clips on joints etc but there's still a significant smell of gas when i open the bonnet

Same way as i would check for a NG leak , and you would check look for eas leak soapy spray
mind i do have a fancy gas tester as well that can sniff gas

I used to nick a few cans of Ambersil Leak Detector from work...then I changed jobs...now I have to buy it...what's that all about??

Think the bubbles last longer. I use one I scrounged from a caravan servicing place.

Don't forget with LPG the the stenching agent doesn't burn - so be sure you've actually got a leak & you aren't smelling the exhaust fumes.
If your gas system introduces the gas through a gas ring or something like a BLOS carburettor before the plenum (or carbs) it MAY be the gas left in that part of the system leaking down after you've turned the engine off.
My filling adapter smells for a long time after I've used it. Stripped my BLOS recently & the parts smelled of gas for several days & still had a strong smell when I put it back together.

The solution is much 'finer' than soapy water and as such will bubble using much less pressure from a minute leak, whereas soapy water won't.....

Surely a mask and a match would work just as well

Wave the flame around the bay and if it starts to grow then you're getting close..
