lost revers gear

well today i was driving about no problems used reverse gear a good few times then when i tried to reverse out of parking space it just will not go in
iv striped centre console down and cart see anything stopping it go in.

your thoughts plz

well that was my 1st thought, lol

got it home and tried it again went in 1st time no problems... but now 5 mins later no matter how much i play/push/get mad with it just will not go in again ?
