Disco 2 Struggling to get into gear and popping out

My discovery 2 Manual is suffering with some gearbox issues.

1st,3rd and 5th work as they should no issues with selecting them or them popping out of gear while driving..

2nd gear some times pops out while driving, 4th gear is a little tricky to get into and reverse is probably the worst as it really struggles to go in... when it feels like its in reverse gear it sometimes is not.

Once all the gears are engage the car drives fine.

I have change the gear oil and plan on changing the bias plate and springs but I worry its something else.

If anybody could give me any suggestions that would be great

Hi, seems very like bias issue so dont worry untill you check that and replace the plastic pivot bush(FRC9985) while you are there , the plate can be just loosened if it's not cracked also the lever used to be rubbed by the springs
adjust the plate exactly as in the book:
6. Select 4th gear and move lever fully to the right
and tighten bias plate adjustment bolts to 25
Nm (18 lbf.ft).
