London Congestion Charge Clarification.

Hi there- I recently purchased my P38, and one of the selling points was that it would be exempt from the Congestion Charge as it has a £2000 LPG conversion on it.
However having looked at the TFL car check list Range Rover is not listed, i followed this up with a call and they confirmed that it is not the car model that is important but the people/companies who carry out the work. They themselves have to be registerd with TFL and then prove that the conversions they are doing meet the green requiremnets set out. Only then will a car model be put onto the 'Exempt list'.
Now I find it hard to believe that of all the converstions done by many companies on hundreds of range rovers none of them have applied with the TFL.
This makes me think that Range Rover does not meet the requirments to be able to be exempt from the charge.
Can people please confirm this for me, as I see lots of ads selling range rovers with the same (exempt from London congestion) as a selling point or forums telling people to convert there cars to LPG in order to be exempt, but I haven't heard of a single perosn who has actually (not in theory!) been given the clearence to drive they're RR in london and pay no congestion charge,

They are not interested in getting range rovers exempt from London roads, i went down the same route, they say it would be far too expensive to test the P38 on LPG and out of date as new systems are more efficient, so i decided to go in after 6pm at night on Friday then get out on Sunday where congestion charge does not apply, but that might change soon

Robbing b@s#ar@s the lot of them, If it says lpg or dual fuel etc on your registration then you should be exempt. And if Goonarmy is right then they have just fu@ked everyone again and probably gone back on their word!!!!

The Conservatives now are in charge not Labour, i do think Labour were planning to shelve LPG exemption unless you were a London cabby who invested thousands in conversions, but i agree, if your registration says dual fuel or LPG, then thats it your in and it's not as if they wouldn't know as they have access to your vehicle details so would know it was LPG or dual fuel, i think the Conservatives have shelved extending the con/charge areas, for now anyway. I think the word they used was "review"

If it says LPG on yer V5 then yer exempt!!! ... if it says Petrol/diesel then yer not

Yer could drive into London in a 9 litre Hummer As long as it says LPG on the V5 NO CHARGE!!!..It all cross referenced with the DVLA database!!

what if it says lpg/petrol?

or petrol/kittens?????
