Lift on a budget

Sorry if this is daft question but can I achieve a cheap 2" lift by adding spacer blocks all round and then -2" droppers for the rear shockers?

Obviously it would better to use a full spring/shock kit but funds are tight!

I'm not fussed about lots of articulation, just want to stop my new 255/70/16 tyres catching the arches off road (which they do now but only just)

I made my own blocks over a year ago and have used them on and off road with no issues. I originally did it as a cheap lift with the intention of fitting a spring/shock combo but still haven't got round to it!

i used hd springs and while i was there fitted some standard height pro comps then fitted some 2" ally blocks under springs seemed to lift it way over 2" no mods either to brake lines ran sweet aswell

As I understand it the blocks up front also raise the shockers so no change needed but rears will need droppers or longer shocks, is that right?

i didnt bother with all that had no problems off road either

Really? I would have thought the rear shockers would have topped out as they reach the limit of travel?

prehapes if we done real bad stuff off road there might be a problem but it served me well ............... now ive gone the whole hog and need a step ladder to get in it

Ok cheers, will start with spacers and see how it fares.

thats only cos he went offroad twice

is this what your trying to achieve?

Nah, that's just showing off

Youy can turn the rear shocks mount upside down, that would give you a -2" drop for the shocks, however you would need to drill the chassis
