Well for one is it really worth it ?
I know the basic chemistry behind it
Filtered cooked oil
methanol mix with sodium hydroxide
mix
leave it empty
the wash process

but is it really worth all the hassle and the cost of all the bits to do it ?
Anyone else using bio diesel
or any other sort ?

Well there's places that sell it if you can't be arsed making your own but in the long run it costs less (and better for the environment). The place in Glasgow I used to go to does biodiesel for 1.19 a litre, which isn't half bad and works out considerably cheaper. Initially I wasn't too sure about my mpg on it so I stopped using it but I think my fuel consumption was down to a load of other factors as opposed to the biodiesel. I may give it another couple of tankfuls and see

Can tell you all about it. Have a few processors in the shed but as the land rover does hardly any mileage now and the fact I don't want to put it in my new Golf - I tend not to make a lot now.
 
I buy mine from a mate who gets it delivered ,shed full at a time. expect hes making a little on deal but I pay £1.10 ltr and mix it with straight veg oilno hastle of making it and no upset niebourse when it go`s bang:)
 
Well im new to the diesel world used to performance petrol so not mates with any people that would be interested in making bio unfortuantly
