Leak detector spray has shown all is air tight on the system except for the front offside collet. Now...its not leaking from where the pipe goes in but from around the outside of the collet itself. Dunlop spring btw, can I assume that replacing the two O rings in there will fix it? Springs look great otherwise. Can you even buy those O rings?

Are these any help to u, apologises if there the wrong ones

As a side note I normally buy a set of O rings both imperial and metric, plus just a thought has the nut got a hairline crack in it

Have found in the past using some clear plumbers silicone grease has stopped air leaks

Hope it helps in a small way

If the inner O ring is damaged or the pipe is not fully home, the leak may well appear around the outside of the collet.

The pipe is fully home although it seemed to seat a little easier than I would have liked considering how much of a shove they needed when I replaced both rear springs last year. Do you know if the collets lift out as they do in the valve block?

Apologises, are these better plse

Ordered the allmakes ones, slightly more expensive than britpart but loads cheaper than genuine (40p ish each, £4 each ish genuine) had to order 10 for £4 odd but a fiver postage.

I'd be interested in how you get on. Gary can probably remember the name of the connectors (Voss?) but you can buy brass replacements on the Bay.

Hi mate

Is this the connectors u mean as indeed replaced all my Voss connectors with these brass push fits rated at 80 bar , plus a lot cheaper than those Voss connectors

Hers also a link for those Voss connectors

Hope that helps

All the collets on mine are brass.

The bit it goes into, not the collet. Yours are Arnott. I think mine are too, although Arnott Gen. 3 have switched to some absolute barsteward ones that don't release and you have to unscrew it or cut the airline. I cannot recall what Dunlop were but I think they were steel.

I have Arnott's on one, Dunlop's on the other all with brass collets.

They don't but easy to tap as it is only plastic. Well, usually. Some are ally.
That's interesting, could fit off the shelf 3/8 bsp -6mm push fits or olive type fitting compression. Got them on my 110 200tdi fuel system.
I was thinking of doing compression fittings to the valve block just cos I can.

I'd guess they used push-fit because space is a bit tight, especially on the v8. The diesel has so much space by comparison.

I did compression fittings on one of my valve blocks a while back. Zero airline leaks at the valve block & easy to disconnect & reconnect when required. On the other hand with good quality o-rings & collects they don't generally leak unless the airline ends are damaged.

Replacement genuine collets are available from JLR for £2.81 inc. vat.
