As above, is it a hard/expensive job to do please? Mines making the usual 'clicking' when turning at low speed, i hear its a common fault, just wondered if its a DIY job or best left to an expert? And what sort of money I can be expecting to pay?
Thanks in advance

That's a new one on me, but I'm no expert, I have clicking at low speed when turning but I've bought new cv joints which I am getting around to fitting.
Where is the slip ring ?

I dont actually know guys I'm afraid  On another forum I described a 'clicking' sound from the steering column at low speed when turning corners, in car parks on at home etc and a couple of guys mentioned the slip ring assembly in steering column breaking down. No ones replied to my post there yet so thought I'd see if it was a common fault over here too, I'm not experiencing any faults yet from it other than the noise, but seeing as she having new FSR, battery (and possibly headlight wiper relay) and few other bits I thought I'd see about getting this slip ring done too

There have been tales of the steering column UJ clicking....

As for the rotary coupler that sits under the steering wheel and allows the wheel to turn and yet still be electrically connected.

Inside is a set of electrical tracks and wipers....if the wipers were breaking down, it could cause odd noises, but if it would be audible, I don't know....

Is the click emanating from inside or outside the car??

The noise is definately from inside, and a definate 'clicking', almost like one of those old mechanical hand held clicker counters? (poor example i know)

On another forum a guy said he regularly changes them, ive messaged him but no reply yet
