Hi all,

Re P38, Yr 2000 4.0 ltr,

Engine immobile message on dash - trying to enter EKA code, followed instructions but think have a sticky central locking pup up that is stopping the code being fully registered as i think it should pop up and all ow me to enter vehicle but cant - any ideas how i can get in of reach pop up button to the door ? - once in i can drop the window and manually assist the pop up button to be able to enter the code??? and then sort the sticking issue out.

Thanks in advance

The Internal Sill Button is only mechanically connected to the lock mech and it's lack of operation shouldn't stop you from entering the EKA as this is transmitted to the BeCM from a Microswitch built into the lock mech itself and not from the sill lock button

On mine, I'm sure entering the eka never triggered central locking, until you put key in ignition and pressed both buttons on fob , but mine a 98 dse

If one or both of the front Door lock actuators burn out. The vehicle will give an EKA code lockout and the code can not be entered until the offending lock actuators are replaced.
If you can get into the car and lower the drivers door window use a piece of wood as a wedge to move the glass away from the outer door panel (don't overdo it!) and with a torch and with something long and thin you should be able to move the lock actuator over (I think its the white lever if I remember) to open the drivers door. (same on Passenger side) No bashing required. The actuator is lower down the door from the door lock.
If so then it indicates that the actuator needs replacing
