If you did this on a rear wheel, that would be a sign of a seized VCU.

The diagnostic test is a REAR wheel.
I wouldn't leap to any conclusion based on a front wheel. It's out of gear, mind.
Anyway the test, when done properly, is still quite subjective because the rear wheel will still be really hard to turn.

how is the front wheel any different to the rear wheel?

I took it to a specialist today and they told me to do the visous test. i put tippex in a line and it was still lined up after i drove it full lock.
does this mean that the viscous is f***ed.
the specialist said this would stop the front wheel from free turning on its own.

where did you put the tippex? did you paint it on the two parts of the vcu(which don't move) or paint a line on the front and rear prop shafts?

they do spin together mate!

should the front wheel spin easily when jacked up. only reason i think its the vcu is because of this front wheel not spinning and there is a very loud houling sound when going over 60mph on a light up hill

Nice try, but as the oters have pointed out, this is a false result as the two parts you marked don't turn separately. Mark the actual popshafts to be 100% sure.
You should suspect a seized VCU IF it fails one or more of the diagnostics tests.
Frankly, if you are going to query the VCU you need to do at least one of the tests properly. Repeat the Ashcroft test by jacking up the rear wheel. And also repeat the Tippex test by marking two parts that are supposed to spin separatly. There is no point in jumping to conclusions before you have done at least one of the diagnistic test correctly.

done the tests and thank god they are not lined up when i re checked. also put one back wheel in mud and it spun on its wn until the tc corrected it.
I still need some serious help on this loud houling sound when i go over 60mph on any kind of upward road.
