Is this normal

Can anyone tell me if it is normal for the housing around the fuel filter to get hot.
I did slightly over spray with waxoyl but have now cleaned it off
Any thoughts?

It's normal for a Td5, that's according the the Forums as that question has be asked a few times, although a V8s filter doesn't want to be hot.
