hi all
i have a pierburgh sensor fitted and a synergy 2 tuning module fitted.
They seem to work fine most of the time but some of the time i can put my foot to the floor and the car wont rev over 2000 this also happens when cruising on the motorway.

If i pull over and let it idle its fine, to stop the problem i have to floor it and wait for the turbo to kick in. once it has i can drive on but the problem may occur again on the journey.

It almost seems the turbo is sticking and needs more revs to unblock it! but this doesn't happen all the time.
Any thoughts would be amazing
Thanks
Tom
:blabla:

Things I would try initially are basic service first including the crankcase breather filter/valve. Does it run better again with the synergy switched off? If so then an injector leak off test would be a good idea. Ceck the Turbo vacuum solenoid & pipework which also feeds the egr. Talking of which, clean or bypass the egr with a bypass from ebay. Millers Powersport 4 diesel additive in the fuel at double dose. Check all intercooler hoses for splits/leaks. Check the injector wiring harness for poor connections etc. as apparently there's an updated modified loom which can be fitted. Finally ask Chaser, he'll give you better ideas than i can.

Thanks i will get on with some of that the synergy has only just been fitten but the maf sensor was fitted with the mafam wich worked fine for a few days now i have started to get the problems.

i have run the car and taken off each injector conection and with each one there was a lot of interuption with the running! so i dont think it injectors i have cleaned the egr and most of the pipe work with it i am just going to change the fuel filter short of that i am stuck!

Turn off the synergy altogether and disconnect the synergy connector from the original maf sensor plug.

Obviously you will have lost the improvement the synergy gives but does it otherwise drive 'normally' like this? Try to simulate the conditions that have been causing the drop in power and also give it a blast at motorway speeds and try a steep climb.

ok i will give that a go! but i have caused a bit of a proble changing my fuel filter today as i started to lift the housing that seats the lift pump and filter i managed to snap a nossle of a small block under the lift pump wich it seems to conect to. i have spoken to a few garages and they are telling me that the small plastic block can only be perchaced as part of a compleat fuel line replacement which is a masive cost is there a way to replicate this small box?

Maybe try an online breakers. I'm sure I remember reading here about someone else breaking the exact same thing, so it might be worth searching for. Don't remember if he managed to repair or had to replace though.

wasn't there a black control unit in the vicinity of the turbo that played another member up?

Hi all this is the plastic box thing and the part the broke away from it! i think the main two feeds are the two that conect at the back the one i broke is the feed to the lift pump, i think the one on that side to the right is the return pipe and the one on the side is the main feed to the common rail???

You have 2 options as it's not available separately, buy the fuel line assembly from LR which has the five port valve included or get a second hand one from a scrap td4.

i have hered that BMW may have the part sold with out the lines on? and could this block be replicated say with pipe spliter (T and Y) and spare pipe?
Tom

No it contains a restrictor and non return valve, don't ask me between which ports. :D

ha ha ok well it was worth a thought i have found one but its around £150 not great the most expencive peace of plastic i have ever bought :-( hopefully after this and the new fuel filter might sort the power problem dout it though i have just got a egr bypass kit as well!

I have found a bmw part/replacment i hope it works!!

Hi all just a quick post to say I have sorted the fuel line problem at the 5 way connector I managed to fined one at a BMW garage I can remember the engine its from but is not for the m75 engine in the td4.
The part number is in the pic before this post the way I managed to connect every thing was to cut the fuel lines back a little and expose the hard plastic core of the tube them extend the pipe back to it original size with extra fuel hose I got mine from Halfords main feed 6mm and return feed I think was 8/9mm them simply clamp it all down nice and tight!
Make shore you prime the system and check it all over a few times to make shore there are no leaks!!!
After that fire her up should work fine
I took mine out today seem to perform just fine!
Tom
