Hi All,

I own a 2012 TD GS Freelander 2 and I'm having the strangest issue....after about 45 minutes of driving the accelerator pedal becomes really unresponsive, so i'll press the pedal and the revs will be really slow in rising. So as a random example, i'll stop at lights, then when it turns green i'll press the pedal by 20% and the revs will take 5 seconds to start increasing and struggle to rise... it's almost akin to a turbo lag but from the second i press the pedal and long before the turbo is due to kick in.
I've had it in an garage for diagnostics, but they say everything is returning fine on the diagnostic machine..hoping someone has had a similar problem. the turbo spins up fine and for 40 minutes everthing runs OK. I've felt like theres been lag before when setting off, could it be the pedal sensor?

Thanks for any help!

Hi Hewit.
It sounds like the throttle cog has worn teeth, you need to check that, seeing as the diagnostics show nowt, if it is then they can be repaired with some new cogs, link below.

The price set here is because the seller is waiting on stock, so usually £25.

These cover the original cog and exchange for the large cog.

Mark where they need to fit i glue and screw mine to make sure the cog does not ever come loose.

Then add the new large cog.

The lid is put back on and the throttle is ready to be fitted back on the FL2

You could of cause just by a new throttle which may need setting up on diagnostics.

It could maybe be MAF sensor but i would have thought the diagnosis would have showed that.

I fitted a new throttle bought off eBay. Wasn't expensive and it worked without any re-programming. Performance normal.
