Hi who does everyone use for there Range rover insurance
I was with Directline but they have put my premium up by £270 this year to a total of £831
Im 27 have 6 years NCB live in a v low risk area and have one claim just under 3 years ago, ijust cant understand why it would go up so much!!

I got a quote from tesco. £470 fully comp for a 1998 4.6.

I'm 40 years old full NCB + 3 points for speeding (nearly spent) no claims in last 5 years

ive tried sureterm and they said i have to be part of a car club to get a quote, to which i laughed at!
lancaster came up with £555 but wouldnt protect my no claims
I just got a quote of £451 from jubilee in london, which covers me for everything even off roading and rallying!

confused came up with lancaster and others all over £900
and money supermarket wouldnt quote me
Im about to try tesco now

many thanks for all your recommendations so far

Have you tried calling Directline up and saying you want to start a new policy with them? They try it on with the renewal price as a lot of people just accept it and pay. Admiral did that with me - offered me a £400 renewal on a policy that cost £200 the 1st year. Called them up and said I wanted to start a new policy when my old one ran out and got it for about £230. Worth a try.

i`ve just been quoted £260.00 fully comp with sureterm , so i reckon i shal be going with them this year :) , the car is a 1997 4.6 hse with lpg conversion .

have you tried NFU Mutual?? I cant remember the price I paid for this years insurance from them but I was pretty impressed at the time, I will dig out how much I paid when I get back home and post if you wish :)

Try Elephant.co.uk. They tend to beat any quote you have been given.

Your LPG conversion might be treated as a "modification", which can significantly increase the premium.

Good luck!

Rick are you part of any car club? As sureterm said i had to be to get a quote???
no mate i just rang them because i saw their ad in landrover international mag and, my partner got a good quote for her suzuki vitari , it knocked spots off everyone else , i have however gone for limited mileage
i think its about 8500 mls per year , i run 2 other cars as well so thats not a problem anyway to me.
rick.

I use sureterm direct they are the cheapest i can find around this area, they saved me over £200 and i have protected no claims.
As to the car club i just told them i was a member of landyzone it seemed to be good enough for them. After all this is a kind of land rover club isnt it ?
Mark

I will retry sureterm and say about here, and see what they say
The lpg is classed as a modification and puts the premium up by around £70 on most quotes ive done
Incidently i tried directline as a new customer and the quote was £560! so im not bested impressed with them

Hate insurance companies. It makes no sense. I was going to get an SJ410 or 413 and the insurance was £280 - did a quote on the range rover for fun and it was only £40 more or something. A 1.0l Suzuki or a 3.5l Range rover for £40! Crazy!

My car is on lpg and it is classed as a modification, as long as you can send in a photocopy of the certificate it shouldn`t make too much diffrence to the premium.

my last 2 insurance companies have both said i didnt matter being lpg converted , and niether wanted to see the certificate which , has been said many times on here aint worth diddley :) .

RAC base their premiums on post code. If, as you say, you're in a low risk area you'll benefit big time. They took no account of my lpg conversion or stainless exhaust. Churchill and tesco went to town and bumped up the excesses sky high. They may beat renewals but watch out for the excess trick. £230 fully comp protected no claims and wife covered. I'm only a shade older than you.

directline are the only comapny ive come accross that needed a certifiacte from the LPG, they even required a letter stating my factorys extras from Land Rover!
No other company has asked for proof, but it has unfortunately bumped the premium up, and stopped some people from even quoting
Ive spoken to a lot of the companies and my postcode is low risk, but has gone up by 20% this year. I dont know how detailed they go into the postcode, ie whether it goes to the last digits eg sn4 9NS or just the first digits eg SN4
As i know for the more detailed postcode of where i live there has been no claims, thefts burglury crime etc, its v quiet here
Im going to carry on looking for quotes. so far Jubilee is the cheapest at £451

My 4.6 was insured with Direct Line for years and they put mine up so I went to Churchill for a saving of nearly £80 and they are a sister company of Diret Line. When I called them back to say that I had a cheaper quote from Churchill, they just said "We can't match them".
I'm on max. NCB and no points.

Mine is insured with Priviledge, I am 38 with full no claims and pay £410 with protected no claims, It would be £365 without protected no claims, they didn't have any problem at all that it was converted to Lpg and it didn't make any difference to the price and they fully recognise lpg for cars they didn't even ask for a copy of the certificate.
