1. Things are getting dickey.. do you feel lucky, punk?
Actually, the thing I like most about my P38 is that you have to be close to the soul of the machine.
So much better than a soul-less "modern" car, if you like that sort of involvement, which I do.
I am on three presses, which is what you would expect I guess.
New accumulator and fresh brake fluid to be done some time next summer.

Three is fine, both mine are on three after new accumulators.

UPDATE.

GOOD NEWS.

Replaced the accumulator today and it seems to have fixed the pedal. I have to give Rimmer Bros some kudos here. I order it late Christmas Eve. I didn't bother paying express delivery and their prices for the Wabco part was comparable to any other bargain basement outlet like Island-4x4 or Devon 4x4 etc. Yesterday (presumably when they went back to work after Christmas) I got the order processed email and another saying it would be delivered before close of play on Friday - excellent! Imagine my surprise when first thing this morning a UPS van pulled up and delivered the part. Brilliant! I can fix it today rather than in the rain forcast for tomorrow and the next day. Anyway, fitted the accumulator, bled the modulator just in case and on firing up the pedal firmed up. Woo-hoo.

BAD NEWS.

I thought I'd do a full bleed just to be on the safe side. Bled the booster circuit and moved to the OSF brake. There's a bl**dy weep! The front brake flexi, a brand new stainless-steel one from Britpart replaced not 2 years ago with @brianp38dse has ****ing failed. My wife could have been driving with my son in the car. Not 2 years old and it has ****ing failed. Not for nothing are they called Sh!tpart. It is a good job it was me driving the car. How the hell can a stainless-steel brake-flexi fail in under 2 years? Utter ****e. On the upside i never bought them; @MrGorsky gave them to me. He bought them for his post-'98 model and they were for the earlier chassis with the single-exhaust where the brake lines both cross-over so he gave them to me. But even so, not at all imperssed. I wish I'd left the originals on there. So, now I still have no car and have to order more parts before I dare venture out in it. F*ck Britpart and all their kin for an eternity of hells.

Only the braid is stainless, it covers up whatever crap plastic tube they put inside it.

I've never liked the stainless steel braid covered aftermarket brake hoses no matter what the vehicle.
They look very pretty but you can't see what state the hose itself is in & that's the important bit.

WHOT  I just got two bp rear ones, rubber ,got them cause me ferrules  are looking old , But they do have all the metal clips n bits ,surely theres a standard they must meet..pressure test or something .o_O..or maby get you through an M,O,T then THROUGH A HEDGE:eek:..:D:D

I don't know how long they were sat in MrGorsky's garage. I wish I had left the originals on now. Still, Brian seems to think I have a chance with Goodridge.

In other good news, the Arnott 3 springs still look brand new. Long may that continue.

The BP rubber ones I fitted came with on the metal clips and brackets, one of the reasons I went for then over tha braided ones as they did not seem to come with then.
