Hi fellas,

Had no problem with the alarm until today, went to lock the Disco with the fob as always, nothing happened, assumed it was because my wife had taken forever to get out and the door was still open... but tried it again, still nothing. The door central locking won't work, ie won't lock or unlock the other doors on turning the key in the lock just the drivers door. There is the red symbol with the key on the dash when I try to start.
So I have dash light, no fob action (two button fob) or doors working.
I don't have the original radio fitted and the other fob doesn't work either but this could be dud battery as I have never used it before.
What is my next step please ?
Really need to get this going again asap !
Thanks

Stu

What year is your disco?

If u have the same problem after you have replaced the fobs battery then u will have to enter your emergency access code via the drivers door to remobilise the engine.
Ok no joy with new batteries for the fobs... so onto the door lock scenario.

I have been trying this for a while now but need some clarification.
When it says turn to the lock position 4 times, does that mean turn to the lock position once then back to the middle without actually unlocking and back to the lock etc or does it means turn to lock then back to unlock (lifting the tab up) 4 times ?
Also should this be done door closed or open ?
I will be outside for a while, glad its sunny :)

Well I have taken out the spider, soldered in the wires and refitted. Initially no change, but disconnected the battery for 5 mins, stuck it back on and she fired up !
Alas I still don't have either fob working or central locking, I think something has gone wrong elsewhere, I have checked the fuses, they are fine.
Is there a second fuse box? is there a likely culprit for my two remaining symptoms ?
Many thanks for the advice so far, very pleased to be up and running again at least :)
Cheers,

Stu

The spider does not affect the alarm it is the alarm that controls the spider.
I take it that the car locking works on the key?
Then you properly have a issue with the remote or the alarm unit get alarm tested and properly have e remotes recoded or new remotes

It seems that the problem is not the spider.... drove to work fine this morning but then 2 hours later the thing was imobilised again !
Took battery off for 5 mins, back on and fine again....
I am guessing the Alarm ECU is faulty ?
still have no fob action or central locking !

Stu

Done this with no effect far too many times to remember :(
Still thinking it has to be Alarm ECU at fault, gonna try eBay

Stu

Just a thought :) also make sure you have the fob/s to match the ecu when you find one.

Any advice is welcome :)
My ecu is AMR6250, I assume if I get a matching ecu with 2 fob key its a matter of plug and play ?

Stu

I dont know if this helps ?. I had the battery in a fob go flat and after changing the battery had to do as Discool said before the central locking
would work, also had the light on the dash and I have the syder bypass fitted.

Just changed the spider box that I soldered the wires in for the official bypass part and still the same problem...
So its got to be the ECU for the alarm, I will let you know how I get on.

Cheers

Well my eBay ECU arrived today, stuck it in, pressed the fob.... you guessed it... nothing

The ECU is not the same part but is the same frequency if that makes any difference.
Is there a procedure in replacing this... please don't say press the fob four times....
If both these ECU are working where is the fault ?
Of course both could be buggered and I have no way of checking that.
