Hi,

Starting to be a tiny bit concerned with the ignition switch on the Disco. Sometimes when I turn it nothing happens... no lights dim, no clicking/whirring..nothing at all. Take the Key out and try again and its OK..any ideas please as I don't fancy getting stranded someplace...cheers.

Take off the cowlings (around the coloum) and inspect the actual switch (on the end of the barrell) make sure its attached properly and all the contacts are touching!

Part number for the switch is STC1746, around £70, or a complete barrell, STC1435 at around £150

or according to my local Stealers - £300 for the complete item.
The switch mechanism is only held in place by a small cross-head screw. Remove the lower cowl and check thet when yu turn the key, the switch doesnt turn at the same time.

Andb66 may have a unit yu can buy.

yep sounds like the black plastic clip thing on the back of the barrel..... iv just done my 2ootdi, got one from scrap disco £10 barrel and key aswell, fitted it in 10 mins
