Ignition Barrel & Door Lock Set

After some thieving git coming into my house while i was in they made off with my Disco keys.
I have decided to change all the locks on the Disco incase they come back & actually take the Disco away.

Does anybody know of anywhere i can purchase these items as i really don't fancy going to Landrover themselves to buy as i think i'll be in for a shock.

It's a late 1994 'L' reg Disco & from the info on the chasis it's a 300Tdi.

Paddocks do them, about £30 from memory.

The part number for a lock set is MXC6549 upto VIN LA 081990. Rimmer Bros would like £428.88.

For vehicles after the above vin no. the number is ALR2252 at £401.45.

Hi Scooby. Home insurance normally includes for the loss of keys if you have it that is.

I have home insurance & have contacted them but they are saying 'car keys' are covered by my motor insurance so no go there even though this git walked into the house & took the keys !
I have contacted my motor insurance & they want £250 excess & to lose 2 years ncb this is not a path i want to persue.

The Police have been involved & they too said Home Contents insurance should cover it but they won't !

I have contacted some breakers years through Google but all they have are the actual locks & not the keys which is of no use to me.

On ebay new @ £107 although the don't give the model of disco. Make an offer and see.

Just wondering if it's possible to reprogramme the alarm. If so, then the stolen remote won't work and although the key would open the door they can't switch the alarm off or drive away. Anyone know???

I don't have the remote it was just a key i used to unlock the central locking.
