Hi,

Does anyone know spec or size of spring that goes inside of ignition barrel please?

Mine decided ping away when I removed it! Doh :eek:.

It's the spring that allows the key to return from ignition 3 to 2.

Thanks all.

Ooops:rolleyes::rolleyes::eek:
Sorry mate don't know so can't help

No worries my own stupidity for losing it. Will buy a spring selection
Dunno if this is any help, but when the same thing happened to me I took the room apart to find it, and didn't.
So I carried on, fixed the rest of the barrel and put it all back together.
Then put it back in the car, in my case a Disco 2, and it all worked exactly like it did before.
Came to the conclusion that there never was a spring, but then I never did see one. :rolleyes:
Best of luck!

Oops just reread your initial post and realised I had got the wrong end of the stick.
I was referring to the "spring" that locks the ball into the detent so it doesn't slip out of position 2 i.e. ignition.
You must have REALLY stripped the barrel down to get beyond the part where you can start the car with a screwdriver.
Best of luck mate!

I was given a 12 bore shotgun and I decided to strip it down completely to reblue it. As I reassembled it the firing pin spring sprung:eek: I went through the garage with a fine tooth comb until there was only two buckets unchecked,one was full of nuts bolts and screws,the other had trowels and floats in it.luckly this was the one I checked first because it was lying in the bottom of it.Lady luck was with me that day.
