Airborne moisture will cause a bit but over-enthusiastic use of water or foam whilst cleaning seats and carpets is a bigger culprit.
That's assuming that you haven't got a leaky door seal or sunroof & drain pipes and your heater 'O' rings aren't leaking.

Oh and ****ing yourself whilst driving is not a great idea.
:D

How do you know you have an alternator fault?.Do you get a message on the message centre?.If you do I am not sure why you associate this with the BECM.It is probably what it says it is "An alternator fault"

But you can still get a dash fault, and its the battery, so I never take any advice from the dash if it did I would be changing most of the component on a weekly bases & spent thousands of ££ when I didn't have to

I have read the threads and after checking all the likely causes battery alternator wireing it seems the fault can lie with a bad connection at the bcem I was not sure where this was located but thanks when I get around to cleaning the connections I will post the result but in this weather not yet thanks now I know where this unit is joe. Ps yes have been getting alternator fault on message centre intermittently

Could be a bad connection between the alternator and the BECM, or it might just be telling you the truth, that your alternator is stuffed:eek:

To be honest I hope it is I hate messing with electrical items I'm more of a fitter than a sparki although cleaning a connection is far cheaper
