How do folks

Stock 2014 Fr2 GS, when I put power down im getting a loudish whistle from the engine.

Is this just induction/turbo or are these things prone to boost leaks? Are these cars known for their induction noise with a stock airbox/exhaust? I test drove one a bit ago but it didnt stick out to me, but then it was only for 20 mins.

Just had it remapped and not noticed much of a difference, so im going through sensors and potential factors that may not show up as errors, like turbo actuator, maf, boost sensor etc but wondered if this noise was normal. No errors or anything engine or sensor related so im assuming its normal

I'd post a video but its hard to drive and record at the same time

A remap is pointless if the boost is leaking from the hoses.
Personally I'd be making sure everything is perfect before trying to make it better. Also be aware that more power shortens the life of the driveline, which is questionable in standard form.

Aye indeed, we have remapped it to within 'safe' spec (though yes anything you do when it comes to power increases of course puts more wear on the various engine and drive components). It went through a full engine inspection beforehand both physically and electronically, so im wondering if it was a small nick missed somewhere, but after talking to the missus she swears blind when we tested drove a different fr2 the same noise was there, so im guessing its just standard induction or turbo noise. In any case I'll be going over the hoses soon just to check anyway.

Ta!
