Hi all... first post (having done the intro thing on the other section). I'm loving being back in the gang, and enjoying week 1 of my new Discovery 2, '53, Td5 Auto. My question is concerning the EKA. I've seen in various threads that this is the "key" to solving many problems, so to be future-proofed - is there any way to find out what the EKA is on my vehicle? I've checked the documents that came with the vehicle, so whilst I have the radio code, I can't seem to find a record of the EKA. Can this be downloaded from the vehicle via any diagnostic tool, or is it a request back to LR themselves? As a related question, are there any other codes / information that I'll only find out about after I need them?! (that I should make a note of / find out now!)

Many thanks, GJ

Yep.. on reflection that makes a lot of sense! Hopefully rolling up in it with the V5, 2 operational keys and no smashed windows may be enough proof... although last time I recall I was asked to park "around the back".... no doubt to avoid lowering the tone of the forecourt.... :)

Also,

If no one else has mentioned it, Make sure to get the RAVE workshop manual download.

Find a friend with proper diagnostics for a D2.

Cheers

Thanks again, I'll search around for the RAVE workshop manual, and rely on the kindness of strangers (or LZ Members!) to point me towards a friend with diagnostics when the problems start!

Quite ironic really.... I thought that as I had just become an LR owner, I'd better generate some balance in my life and get something reliable, that didn't require constant upgrades and maintenance, so I got a MacBook Pro...... never mind...... I'll dig out the old Windows laptop and see if it still works!

Re 2nd time around.... finances and personal circumstances significantly changed since I last owned a D2 - think this time is much more "hands-on" and less visa debit at dealerships / specialists!
