Hi,
I have a Discovery 2. My main problem is that the Nanocom says "ECU is Immobilized". Any idea how to change it? I had my BCU unlocked and the immobilizer bypassed.

In addition, there are further problems:
+ I can't start the EKA-code entry - No horn, no light (light does not flash once every two second)
+ No indicator lights when looking or unlooking the car
+ Can move the driver seat only with open door

Would be great to get some help on this one. I'm on it since June.

Thanks.

OK.. first of all explain exactly what that means(i mean how was it done) cos it can be many things:
I had my BCU unlocked and the immobilizer bypassed.
...
and what's the symptom? it doesnt crank or it cranks but desnt fire?

it ran before and just got immobilised or how? such details are very important

I don't now how it was done since I haven't done it myself.

However, we have some new hints on what might be wrong. Even though all doors are firmly closed we get the info that one of the doors is open. I think you can't initialise the EKA-code entry with an open door. We'll try to figure out what's wrong and keep you posted.

Would have been helpfull to know how was that BCU "immobiliser bypass" carried out cos as long as the alarm/immobiliser is disabled the EKA code is completely useless(usually disabled by default) as it's used only to remobilise the vehicle when the fob fails to unlock and the alarm/immobiliser are on factory settings which means the red alarm led is on and it doesnt crank, as long as your fobs are working to unlock and no red LED activity or if it's cranking forget about EKA code... maybe if you answer to the other questions too we can go further

If you have nanocom check the alarm settings in the BCU, if the alarm is "not fitted" the EKA function is disabled as well by default

Okay, we have serveral problems which we hoped to solve when we "mobilize" the ECU (we get the error message "unable to start communications with the ECU") and we hoped to do this using the EKA code. But as you describe it it will not be usefull.

Here is the situation:
+ We can start the car, wind sweeper work, mirrors work
+ Indicator doesn't work, electrical seat adjustment only for seconds while door is open
+ Air from the suspension was released, we don't know why, and we can't get it to lift again

That non communication message is with the BCU or engine ECU? quite odd cos if it was with the engine ECU how did you get to the security page?

Did you make it learn the security code and it confirmed it learned then it still says it's immobilised?...if it was immobilised it would not start at all but if you can't access the BCU you'll have to fit another known good one

though you still didnt answer to my second question so i'm asking again differently: This symptom just came out of nowhere while everything worked well before or how? the history of the fault is very important to trobleshoot, i want to help but if you dont answer to all my questions it's hard... or maybe i quit cos i'm not the most patient guy

I newly bought the car so I don't have much experience with the nanocom but I guess it is with the ECU. I tried to make it learn the security code but it seems to me that it won't finish learning it. I press "Learn Security Code", it asks for a confirmation which I give, then I have to switch off the ignition, then about 15 Seconds later the nanocom asked me to switch the ignition on, a loading bar appears, is filled and then ... nothing... no message, no confirmation...

So when I bought the car, the indicators didn't work and seat ajustment like above mentioned. Now, the air from the suspension was released when we reconnected the battery which I had disconnected to work on the car. I can test all components of the suspension (valves/compressor) they seem to be just fine. Hazard warning light work. When I test indicators with nanocom they work but without, they don't.

We need to check where excactly and get back to you.

By the way, we checked the engine wiring harness, which seems fine.

I suspect it's with the BCU cos if it was with the ECU i doubt you could have got to the security settings there so if it is with the BCU the only move you can make it's to replace it with a known good one cos it can be the root of the security code issue and the indicators too and pray that the bodge with the "immobiliser bypass" made by the PO to not be an invasive one

So, the picture with the error is from TD5 > ACE > Faults. When we go on Motronics > Motronics it says "Function locked!"

So is your's a V8 or Td5?(we've got carried away with the EKA and others neglecting this very important detail ) ...also is it fitted with ACE?

Then you have nothing to do with motronic cos that's for the V8 so normally locked if you bought a nanocom for Td5 ... at this point i'm inclined to think that it's all about settings on your vehicle just that you dont know what you are doing with nanocom, read the user guides from theyr's site or the D2's workshop manual cos for example what you say about seats seems normal operation (factory setting):

so all you have to do is to set it to "Ignition" in the BCU, for the hazards or alarm options as well, just learn how to use nanocom..for the suspension you must go in SLABS not elswhere, you didnt say anything about issues with the ACE so you have nothing to do there
