How do i change the autobox fluid on TD5????

Get the vehicle up to temperature, then undo the box sump plug and let it all hang out.

MEASURE THE QUANTITY OF HOW MUCH OIL CAME OUT - so that you can put the same amount back in.

You'll find that even though the total capacity of the box is 9ltrs, you'll be lucky to get much more than 4.5ltrs out. The rest stays in the torque converter.

Examine the old oil for smell, colour and contamination.

Refill with good quality DEXRON III oil.

There is considorable debate about whether it is good to change the filter, or not in the autobox. I didn't I just changed the oil.

Easy peasey

Wear a sou'wester. I changed mine last week and got covered in oil.

It's on the side of the box, about half way up.
