How do I change from a 2wd to a 4wd?

Just in case this isn't a wind-up .. your TD5 is 4 wheel drive but doesn't (probably) have a centre difflock. You have Traction Control instead.

If you want difflock do a search ... it's been discussed ad-nauseum recently.

Ok ok, so just to be clear for Nick, assuming he's not trying to be funny/stupid, Land Discoveries are all, permanent 4 wheel drive, it's that simple.

Please don't go into too much details about centre diffs and the like if the guy doesn't yet know about Disco's basic configuration is perm 4x4. It'll only confuse him further.

that might be the case but mine is not 4 wheel drive and incase you have no relised i am trying to find out how to make it 4 wheel drive if you do not know shut up and **** off!

It is 4wd if it's a standard TD5 Disco ... unless someone's fecked with it somewhere, in which case you need to provide more details.

Personally I think this is a wind-up ... Kinell, not even an original nymshift ... ;)

I think you might be right i shall take it to some one who knows it better. as it should be 4 wheel drive and it is not. cheers

Nick. Get under your landy and see if you have a propshaft to both the front and rear diffs. If you do then it is 4wd. I don't know of a disco 2 that isn't.

When you said that you checked it on ice, how did you check it. I think you are getting confused about what and how the 4wd works. By the sound of it you are expecting all 4 wheels to lock up and rotate at the same speed. THIS IS NOT THE CASE.

Dunno if ur a windup merchant or just thick as ****

I think both .. like I said in my first reply, Nick lee - Kinell .. not even original.

Just waiting to see how he knows he hasn't got 4wd, might be fun!
