I have just bought a disco 30 TDI. There seems to be a problem with going into low range. Everytime i get it in, it slips out almost straight away. Does anyone know what the problem could be??

I tried doing what was sugested, but no joy. Its fine in high ratio. Just cant think what could be the problem

The "problem" is that the engagement of the low range isn't quite far enough, and it pops out.

My Disco TD5 does it in HI range after using low.

The linkage clearly isn't quite right, but once it settles down it stays engaged.

Get under and bash the linkages about and spray them liberally with an Oil/Kero mix and give them a good work-out.

It will soon fix.

you could also attack it from above, it's a 5 minute job to take out the center console. If it's had a clutch change then removing the transmission seal may just be a few screws (usually pop rivits) but if you can get to it from above you will see it alot clearer...
