Morning all.
Just found a problem with the low range on this vehicle.
I can select the low range and all the messages and lights change but on there is no drive when in gear. Changing back to high range and everything is working ok.
Any ideas, I don't use low range much at all and may try not to ever again if it's going to be expensive!
Thanks in advance

Shift motor sticking, not unusual as the motor rarely gets used.

Ah, that's interesting. As a matter of curiosity how would that put the vehicle effectively in neutral.
There is a neutral in the transfer box between Hi & Lo, it can be selected on auto's for towing by fitting fuse 11. It's likely that the motor is stiff through lack of use and just does not have the ooomph to push into lo range.

The shift motor drives the gears in the transfer box from high through neutral and in to low if it sticks in neutral no drive, its the same result as putting a fuse in the seat fuse box to move it in to neutral for towing.

The old motor may just need a clean up a general play with, you can take the motor of and move the cog in the box by hand so you can drive the car.
